Toplet Support

Contact support

Email support@thinkbysketch.com for help with Toplet. Include your app version, macOS version, and steps to reproduce the issue.

Quick start

Open the menu-bar icon, choose Manage Toplets, and use Add Toplet to create Text, Rotating Text, Image, Analog Clock, Digital Clock, Checkbox, Timer, Stopwatch, or Date Countdown Toplets. Drag and resize Toplets while they are unlocked. Lock a Toplet when you want clicks to pass through to the app underneath.

How do I unlock a Toplet I can no longer click?

Open the menu-bar item, choose Manage Toplets, find the Toplet, and turn off Lock. The management window always remains the recovery surface for locked Toplets.

A Toplet is missing or was on another display

Use Show All, then Bring All On Screen. Toplet also attempts to recover unreachable windows automatically when display configuration changes.

Where are Image Toplet files stored?

When you choose an image, Toplet reads the user-selected file and copies it into the app's local Application Support storage so the Toplet can continue showing it. The app does not upload the image to ThinkBySketch.

Notifications are not appearing

Open Manage Toplets and confirm the Timer or Date Countdown has its notification option enabled. If macOS previously denied notification permission, enable notifications for the app in System Settings → Notifications.

Launch at Login is not working

Open Manage Toplets and toggle Launch at Login off and back on. Confirm the app is allowed under macOS System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.

My timer or stopwatch changed after sleep

Timer and Stopwatch state is based on wall-clock timestamps so elapsed time continues across normal sleep/wake. If you see incorrect behavior, include the macOS version and exact reproduction steps in your support request.

Resetting the app

Reset All replaces your Toplets with one starter Text Toplet and requires confirmation.

What information should I include in a support request?

  • macOS version
  • Mac model/architecture if relevant
  • app version/build
  • the Toplet type involved
  • exact steps to reproduce
  • whether multiple displays or full-screen apps were involved

Do not send sensitive text or images stored in your Toplets unless they are necessary to reproduce the problem.

What is free, and what does Pro include?

One saved Toplet of any type is free, including full customization. Hidden Toplets count toward the limit. Toplet Pro is a one-time purchase unlocking unlimited Toplets; there is no subscription. To try another type for free, delete your current Toplet and add another.

How do I restore Pro?

Open Manage Toplets → App Settings → Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that bought Pro. If Pro is temporarily unavailable, your saved content remains intact. The first Toplet in your list is usable for free; drag a different saved Toplet to the top to use that one. Restoring Pro makes all saved Toplets available again.
