Pinlet Support
Quick answers for moving, unlocking, recovering, and troubleshooting Pinlets on your Mac.
Quick start
Use the Pinlet menu-bar icon to create a Text, Timer, Stopwatch, or Date Countdown Pinlet. Drag and resize Pinlets while they are unlocked. Lock a Pinlet when you want clicks to pass through to the app underneath.
How do I unlock a Pinlet I can no longer click?
Open the menu-bar item, choose Manage Pinlets, find the Pinlet, and turn off Lock. The management window is always the recovery surface for locked Pinlets.
A Pinlet is missing or was on another display
Use Show All, then Bring All On Screen. Pinlet also attempts to recover unreachable windows automatically when your display configuration changes.
Notifications are not appearing
Open Manage Pinlets and confirm the Timer or Date Countdown notification option is enabled. If macOS previously denied notification permission, enable notifications for Pinlet in System Settings → Notifications.
Launch at Login is not working
Open Manage Pinlets and toggle Launch at Login off and back on. Confirm Pinlet is allowed under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.
My timer or stopwatch changed after sleep
Timer and Stopwatch state is based on wall-clock timestamps, so elapsed time continues across normal sleep and wake. If you see incorrect behavior, include your macOS version and exact reproduction steps in your support request.
Resetting Pinlet
Reset All replaces your current Pinlets with one starter Text Pinlet and requires confirmation.
What should I include in a support request?
- macOS version
- Mac model or architecture if relevant
- Pinlet version and build
- The Pinlet type involved
- Exact steps to reproduce
- Whether multiple displays or full-screen apps were involved
Please do not send sensitive text stored in your Pinlets unless it is necessary to reproduce the problem.
